Community Life

Building Community, One Neighborhood at a Time

Bahá'ís gather not in churches, but in homes, parks, and community spaces — wherever people are.

What Do Bahá'ís Actually Do?

The Bahá'í Faith is not practiced in isolation. It's lived in community — through gatherings that are open to absolutely everyone, regardless of background, belief, or experience.

Children's Classes

At the heart of the Bahá'í community are classes for children that go beyond information — they cultivate character. Through stories, art, music, and games, children explore virtues like kindness, courage, truthfulness, and love. These classes welcome children of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Junior Youth Groups

Early adolescence is a time of immense capacity. Junior Youth groups — for ages 11 to 14 — channel that energy toward service and moral purpose. Led by a trained animator, these groups use creative arts, discussion, and community projects to help young people become forces for good in their neighborhoods.

Study Circles

Adults and older youth gather in small groups to explore the spiritual dimensions of life and community. These study circles — guided by Bahá'í educational materials — are collaborative rather than lecture-based. Everyone contributes. All perspectives are welcomed.

Devotional Gatherings

Simple, meaningful, and open to all — devotional gatherings bring people together in a spirit of prayer. Readings from Bahá'í writings, as well as from the sacred texts of other traditions, are shared. There is no clergy, no ritual requirement — only an open heart.

Our Vision

A Vision of Community

These four activities aren't programs — they're seeds. Bahá'ís believe that lasting social change begins in the neighborhood, in the family, in the heart. By nurturing spiritual capacity at every stage of life, these gatherings help build the kind of world we all wish to live in.
